Here's me, from a few months back, towards the end of a long day of shooting along the points of Noosa, captured by my buddy Dane. I'm feeling equal parts knackered & stoked here. I'm tired because this was at the end of one of several long days in a row of collecting footage in between dodging rain squalls & intense sunshine, but I'm happy because I know I have something special in the can. Yew!
Some of you may remember about this time last year I documented Paul Joske logging the grove of paulownia trees he had planted over a decade earlier. Paul's longtime dream has been to build a surfboard from seed to sea, & I am following & documenting his progress as part of my next film. After a year of allowing the timber to cure, the logs were finally ready for milling a couple of weeks back. Here is Paul, with a piece of timber fresh out of the Lucas Mill, holding part of his dream in his hands.
