Keith Novosel has a worthy feature up on Drift. Keith is a very genuine, humble, gentle human being whose work deserves the respect it's gathering.

Really appreciate Jimmy Gamboa's clean, subtle flow on a hull captured here by Cy. This short is real easy on the eyes & ears.

Scrapertown

Scrapertown from California is a place. on Vimeo.

This is pure inspiration.

This short reminds me of a favourite quote from Lauryn Hill: "That's what praising God is all about, it's doing your passion, fulfilling your passion. You know, that's how we are are thankful, that's how we say we appreciate the opportunity to be alive."

I'm always touched by people pursuing the things that stir their hearts. What else in this short life is so worthy?

Surfer's Ear

In a couple of hours I'm heading off to hospital to finally have my case of surfer's ear dealt with. Surgery. My doctor will be drilling a hole into my head, clearing my ear canal of exostosis. A quarter of a century's worth of surfing has finally caught up with me. As of today it's six or eight or more weeks out of the water. The longest drought by far in my surfing life. I'm not quite sure how I will begin to cope.

Blank Plank Project

Jim Mitchell, letting his imagination run wild on the canvas of a Valla Surfboards alaia. I'm working on a little short film about this project by The Critical Slide Society that I'll post up soon.

alaia #1 from debolex films on Vimeo.

A lovely short featuring our good friends the Wegeners sharing the joys of the lala in the Basque country, land of my forefathers. How I love that country & her people. I dream of going back there one day to make a surf film.
